Noun: Cheesemonger- someone who sells cheese; bargainer, dealer, monger, trader – someone who purchases and maintains an inventory of goods to be sold.
A cheesemonger is someone who is knowledgeable about all aspects of cheese: buying, selling, caring for, wrapping, storing and, of course, eating! At The Truffle Cheese Shop we tell all of our cheesemongers that the most important part of selling anything is service! Service, service, service! Every guest who walks into our shop gets a hearty hello and when they leave, a genuine thank you and good-bye. We want everyone who walks into our shop to feel welcomed and leave feeling that their visit to us was the best part of their day. We want all of our customers to tell at least one person they love about how well they were treated by our staff.
What is a cheesemonger? Well, at The Truffle Cheese Shop, a cheesemonger is friendly, intelligent, kind, generous, thoughtful and just happens to know a lot about cheese. Do we know everything? No. But that’s the best part of working anywhere, right? Learning something new every day about things that we are passionate about. We strive to be humble about the products we sell. Most of them have been made for hundreds of years by the same families in the same villages on the same pasture land. We are merely caretakers of these amazing products and take that responsibility with care and love. We tend the cheeses, make sure they’re fresh and able to be enjoyed by our customers and their families.
A cheesemonger is someone who hands you a piece of cheeses and says, “what do you think?” We love being around cheese and farms and the animals who make these wonderful, magical morsels.
